Here I am!

Genesis 22:1-3 - Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. Then God said, “Take your son , your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about. ” Early the next morning Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about.
Dear God,
I was reading through Genesis 22 this morning and the very first verse has stuck out to me all day. You call out to Abraham and he replies, "Here I am." How many times do you call out to me, and how many times do I just cower in a corner. I don't say, "Here I am, Lord!" Instead, I'm afraid of what you might say to me or what you might want me to do. I just love how Abraham did not hesitate in answering Your call to him. He said, "Here I am." He made himself available to You and he was ready to be obedient to whatever You said. Abraham was asked to sacrifice his only son on the altar, and did Abraham cower in a corner begging and pleading his God to choose someone else or to spare his son? No, he was obedient even to the point of having his only and dearly loved son on the altar, ready to sacrifice him as You had asked him to.
I can't imagine how that must have been for Abraham. I can't imagine how I'd feel or what I would do  if You asked me to sacrifice my mom or one of my siblings. Sometimes You ask me to do easier tasks like talk to a person about You. Instead of obeying, I freak out and try to make excuses and come up with reasons why I shouldn't do it. I tell You that I'm under qualified or I say that someone else could do it a lot better than I could. I say that I'm not good enough to be used. God, why do I forget that you're way bigger than my insecurities, weaknesses, and failures? You can do big things even through a sinner like me!
2 Corinthians 12:9 - But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
God, I want to be like Abraham. When You call to me, help me to say "Here I am, Lord!! I am ready to do whatever you want me to do!" I will be glad in my weaknesses, because your power and grace will shine through them.
Here I am, God!! I am ready to do your will!
With love,
